Who We Are| About Ryan Giffen
Over 13 years in the service industry, Ryan Giffen, CHE currently serves as an adjunct professor for Orange Coast College with the School of Hospititality, Travel, and Tourism. His prior experience in working for a Member of Congress, Marriott International, Ayres Hotels, Market Broiler Restaurants, and Kimpton Hotels & Restaurant Group has exposed him to an array of experiences.
Academically, Ryan Giffen is currently working on his Ph.D in Hospitality Management with Iowa State University. Prior academic experience includes a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership and a Bachelors in Social Sciences from Biola University. He holds a Certificate in Human Resources Management from California State University, Long Beach. He is recognized by the American Hotel Lodging Association as an instructor in: Human Resources Management, Hospitality Law, Sales and Marketing, Front Office Operations, and Housekeeping Operations.
As a frequent guest speaker in the area of Leadership and Employee Development, his research interest is in hospitality human resources. He is currently researching compensation and benefit packages that appeal to the millennial generation.
When asked Ryan what drives his strong ambition and motivation, his answer was simple: "To make a difference in the lives of my students and employees one individual at a time in hopes this world will be a better place. I strive to be a positive influential person in other people's life in a way that will impact them, their families, and future generations."
